August 2013 - This was a unique place, maybe not to the area, but for my
husband and me. It was built in 1880 as
a water tower, now converted into an apartment.
This was a little farm back in its day.
The main house is a bed & breakfast.
But we rented “The Tower” for 3 nights.
I was not impressed by the housekeeping, for I expected it to be immaculate,
for the price we paid and the area it was in.
It was a little run down and very cluttered with personal stuff. I kind of expected to experience some
paranormal activity staying here. But I
guess because I wasn't afraid, they stayed quiet. One of the reasons for staying here is
because it was walking distance to all the shops, stores, restaurants, bluffs
and headlands, plus I had always wanted to stay in one of the many converted water
towers. The view from our bedroom upstairs was nice. You could see a partial view of the bay and
village. The floor plan was
non-traditional. First floor was the
kitchen & living area. Second floor
was the main bedroom & bathroom.
Third floor was off limits, but appeared to be a private bedroom. All rooms were connected to a narrow spiral
staircase, which I would not recommend to anyone that doesn't like stairs or is
not in good physical condition. Over
all, we had a great stay, enjoyed walking all over the village, taking pictures
of everything from the buildings to the flowers and of course the ocean.
Here is the link to the property from where I rented it:
